Short Description

The Specialist, Events & Sales is responsible for coordinating the complete process of multiple events including planning, execution and post-event evaluation. This role will ensure operational and administrative functions are delivered efficiently, including compliance with the organizations’ overall marketing strategy, specifically brand compliance. This role will be a member of Herc Rentals fast paced, in-house marketing team and must be a self-starter able to collaborate with and provide support to multiple departments and disciplines. Reporting and working closely with the Director, Brand Marketing & Customer Experience this role will use multiple platforms and technologies to support projects and develop partnerships to broaden the reach across the entire organization.

Responsibilities

Event Coordination, Tradeshows, and Sales Support

  • Coordinate event and brand execution for hosted events and industry conferences, including the organization’s largest annual event, ProExpo.
  • Initiate and coordinate a high-profile event for our top tier customers and senior leadership team, including but not limited to, budget planning, coordination, pre- and onsite execution, and post event follow-up.
  • Develop and maintain tradeshow playbook.
  • Plan and support approved trade show activity with turn-key solutions and materials.
  • Research, schedule and review annual calendar of proposed trade shows with stakeholders.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to determine ROI per tradeshow in relation to brand awareness, lead generation, and/or networking opportunity.
  • Confirm and present all costs to support budget approval.
  • Update and manage all tradeshow booth assets warehoused at third-party vendor and plan logistics for scheduled shows throughout the year.
  • Report spending against budget parameters on a quarterly basis.
  • Support the Brand Marketing & Customer Experience team to fulfill internal and external brand and marketing programs, processes, and activities.
  • Liaison with functional and operational departments to support programs, campaigns, and other business-development initiatives — with a primary focus on the sales organization.
  • Develop, implement and maintain a best practice playbook, for recurring activities including but not limited to, open house events, sales blitzes, red tag sales, and Greenfields.
  • Partner with the American Rental Association (ARA) to leverage tools and resources for local or nationwide campaign support, along with confirming all directory information is up to date.

Professional Experience

2-5 years of experience, preferably in event planning or marketing
